ANODYNE THERAPY

No longer do you have to hear from your health care providers "there is nothing I can do for your diabetic polyneuropathy." Finally, your physical therapist can offer you pain relief and improved sensation and help you recapture the life they once enjoyed.

Thousands of patient's are now being successfully treated each month for diabetic peripheral polyneuropathy and gait and balance problems relating to peripheral neuropathy using Anodyne Therapy System.

Peripheral neuropathy, the deadening of nerves in extremities affects 22 million Americans. The loss of sensation and reduction in blood circulation associated with peripheral neuropathy causes tingling, muscular weakness and acute pain. Neuropathy can lead to foot deformity. The reduction in sensation makes the feet susceptible to significant injury and infection, which can lead to amputation of the toe, foot or leg.

The Anodyne Therapy System is a safe non-invasive patented physical therapy modality that is FDA-cleared and Medicare-reimbursed. Arrays of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that produce monochromatic infrared energy are placed in direct contact with the skin. The photon energy releases Nitric Oxide (NO), a free radical produced in endothelial cells and erythrocytes, and is then bound to hemoglobin. NO is a powerful vasodilator that has many published positive effects on healing, neural function, and vascular system.

The 30-45 minute infrared light treatment has been used in Europe for several years and is very effective at improving blood flow to repair damaged tissues. During an Anodyne therapy session, pads are applied directly to the skin and light energy emitted by diodes in the pads increases nitric oxide levels in the blood. This is especially important for diabetics, who often have low levels of nitric oxide, leading to poor circulation, pain and numbness. As a result of this new treatment, blood flow increases and nerve function improves.

Anodyne Therapy System is non-evasive, drug-free and easy use. Excellent clinical results are achieved in most patients with 30-45 minute treatments three times per week over a four-week period. The only contradictions are pregnancy and active malignancy.

Anodyne Therapy has been clinically proven to achieve:

* Restoration of protective sensation
* Improved gait and balance
* Reduction in pain
* Reduction in pain medication
* Improved wound healing in chronic non-healing wounds
* Potential to prevent amputations in diabetic patients

BOSH Physical Therapy is the only clinic in Miami Beach to offer this treatment. Please call us if you need more information.
